Affectionately dubbed “the CEO (chief eternal optimist) of Nepal”, Sujeev Shakya is a prominent thought leader, author, and management consultant, best known for his expertise in business, economics, and development. He is the Founder and CEO of Beed Management, a Kathmandu-based international management consulting and advisory firm operating in Asia and Africa, and the Chair of the Nepal Economic Forum, a leading private sector-led think tank. He also serves as a Senior Advisor for Bhutan and Nepal at Bower Group Asia, a U.S.-based strategic advisory firm.

Shakya has over 25 years of experience, including 20 years with Nepal’s largest business group, Tara Management/Soaltee Group, where he rose to Group President before founding Beed Management in 2008. He is a prolific writer, contributing columns to The Kathmandu Post and authoring several books, including Unleashing Nepal (2013), Unleashing the Vajra: Nepal’s Journey Between India and China, The Pandemic Years, Arthat Arthatantra, and Arthat Pariwartan. His work focuses on Nepal’s economic history, potential, and geopolitical positioning, advocating for leveraging Nepal’s location between India and China for prosperity.

Recognized as a “multipotentialite,” his career spans consulting, writing, speaking, and coaching, with his journey studied at Babson College. Shakya holds a Certificate in Coaching from Columbia University, a Diploma in International Marketing from Boston University, and is a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow and Senior Fellow at the National University of Singapore’s Institute of South Asian Studies.

With his optimistic outlook, he fulfills his duties as “CEO” of Nepal with his global reintroductions, highlighting the country’s immense potential to transform.Born into a Buddhist family, his methods and ethics are shaped strongly by Buddhist sensibilities.
